I was hanging out in #ludumdare like I do when a regular there by the name of PoV posited a challenge to us:
Make a game and sell at least one copy (or license it) by the end of October.
Well.
I’ll be taking him up on that, and the game I’ll be making is the long awaited Star Kittens! Needless to say I’ll be blogging the entire process.
And if anyone else wants to join in, here’s PoV’s original challenge post along with tips for success!
Good luck!
Are you going to do something original? Or are you going to use your Inaria in Java build?
I’m going to attempt something for this challenge!
Anthony made Inaria in Java too? Good luck with the challenge, can’t wait the blog!
Yeah, sell _ONE_ (*!!!*) copy! Right! Is that because after you’ve sold that one copy to someone some douchebag puts the stuff up on some file sharing torrent? I hate pirates, is it even possible to sell games at all? How do you sell software in these times of pirates? I’m sure pirates was what killed Star Dock!
I don’t have problems finishing projects, I have problems even starting them! Give a lazy bum a fish and you feed him for today, but give him an even bigger fish and you feed him for a longer time! But if you teach him to fish you’ll just give him another thing to mean to start some day.
softlicious: From a recent count, I had over hundred open projects. Starting new projects isn’t a problem. Sometimes I re-visit a stalled project, and manage to finish it.
Over a hundred, that’s amazing. If you started one project every second day it would still take you over half a year to get that number. I might actually finish something some day.
I hope Mario, Zelda and Warlords are making apearances in name that game, cause I would totally be able to guess those games from almost any screen shot.

Uh, well, I’ve had a couple decades =)
